Inspired by Dr. Amy Berry's work in Reimagining Student Engagement: From Disrupting to Driving, this presentation will introduce the Continuum, discuss why it's a valuable resource for schools, and provide practical guidance on implementing it in classrooms.

Providing multiple routes for demonstrating mathematical understanding—through varied representations and problem-solving approaches—students can experience an inclusive environment that cater to different needs and assets. This flexibility accelerates learning, allowing all students to express their mathematical competencies meaningfully.

This session is designed for educators and leaders dedicated to transforming mathematics instruction for multilingual students. As we prepare students for a rapidly changing world, it’s crucial to foster mathematical thinking and reasoning, particularly for those developing both language and math skills. Through innovative teaching practices that promote mathematical discourse, participants will explore strategies and reasoning routines that create supportive environments, empowering students to engage critically with mathematical concepts.

Explore how street-level data—insights gathered from student experiences, observations, and voices—can guide meaningful strategies for learning acceleration. This session will focus on how to use these qualitative data points alongside the five key components of learning acceleration from the California Collaborative for Learning Acceleration (CCLA): mastery of priority content, evidence-based strategies, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), culturally sustaining pedagogy, and social-emotional learning (SEL) practices. Attendees will reflect and plan to enhance equitable outcomes by building on student strengths and fostering engagement with grade-level content.

This session explores innovative approaches to co-teaching and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to create inclusive and equitable environments for Students with Disabilities (SWD). Participants will gain actionable strategies to enhance collaboration, foster learner agency, design lessons that meet diverse needs and to accelerate learning of SWD. Through real-world examples, hands-on activities, and collaborative planning, educators will leave equipped to engage every mind and empower every learner's future and support SWD with a voice in their education and post-secondary outcomes.  

Participants will also receive a copy of The Reason I Jump, offering profound insights into the inner world of children with autism.
